Yale Pediatrics and Child Study Center Run Together for Refugees

On February 13, 2022, a snowy Super Bowl Sunday, residents, faculty, and staff from Yale Pediatrics and the Yale Child Study Center (CSC) geared up to run or walk the annual Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services (IRIS) Run for Refugees 5k!

The event takes place each year on Super Bowl Sunday to benefit IRIS and their programs that help resettle refugees in New Haven and Connecticut. From basic needs like food and housing, to case management, education, and health and wellness support - magnified in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic - IRIS is a major pillar of the New Haven community that we were thrilled to support once again.

The cause is also top of mind for many at Yale Pediatrics and CSC. The Yale Pediatric Refugee Clinic, a resident initiated program established in 2007, is a partnership between the Yale Pediatric Residency Program and Integrated Refugee and Resettlement Services of New Haven. This optional experience for residents offers the opportunity to care for children resettling in the United States.

Our team raised $625 for IRIS this year and you can still donate to our team goal here. Follow us on Instagram and on Twitter for updates and join our team in 2023!
