Mary L Henwood, MPH

Mary L. Henwood, MPH a native of Connecticut, commenced her professional journey in the Pulp and Paper industry with Boise Cascade Corporation in New York City. Following her tenure there, she pursued and attained a Master of Public Health degree from Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. Henwood subsequently assumed the role of Executive Director for the American Cancer Society's New York City Region, where she played a pivotal role in advancing public health initiatives.

Her expertise and dedication earned her a position on the Commission for Women's Issues under Mayor Michael Bloomberg, where she significantly contributed to the successful passage of the Clean Indoor Air Act in 2009, demonstrating her commitment to fostering healthier communities.

Prior to her affiliation with Yale, Henwood served as the Director of Women's and Children's Service Line at Stamford Hospital. In her current role at Yale School of Medicine, Henwood collaborates closely with leadership and faculty to advance the strategic objectives of the departments. Her focus encompasses the expansion of research and innovation, the growth of clinical practices, and the education of residents and fellows, grooming them to become tomorrow's leading medical experts.
