Symposium on Virtual Health Care March 13

Speakers will explore the current state and future direction of virtual health care at a free, online symposium on Wednesday, March 13, from 1-5 p.m. EDT.

The symposium, titled “From Novelty to Sustainability: How to Embed Virtual Care into the Post-Pandemic Healthcare Delivery Template,” is sponsored by Digital & Technology Solutions (DTS) at Yale School of Medicine (YSM) and Yale New Haven Health System (YNHHS).

The symposium will feature moderated panels that will incorporate both presentations and interactive discussions. Programs will include:

  • AI and Technology Enabled Clinical Workflow Redesign: This session will cover virtual nursing, telesitting, and AI-enabled documentation. Session moderator: Lee Schwamm, MD--SVP/Chief Digital Health Officer + Associate Dean, Digital Strategy & Transformation, YSM and YNHHS.
  • Virtual Primary Care: Sucesses and struggles with implementing virtual care models into primary care. Session moderator: John D. Scott, MD--Chief Digital Health Officer at University of Washington Medicine.
  • Selling the ROI for Virtual Care: Senior health care executives will evaluate three ROI presentations in a “Shark Tank” style format. Session moderator: Judd Hollander, MD--SVP of Healthcare Delivery Innovation at Thomas Jefferson University.
  • Leveraging Community Spaces to Expand Virtual Care Access: Use of public libraries to meet the information and virtual care needs of communities. Session moderator: Elizabeth Krupinski, PhD--Professor and Vice Chair for Research at Emory University.
