"The History of Yale and Slavery" — Perspectives for Inclusion Series
PERSPECTIVES FOR INCLUSION SERIES
Award-winning author David Blight will discuss his latest book, an archival investigation into the university’s involvement with slavery, the slave trade, and abolition. The complex story centers around the enslaved and free Black people who have been part of Yale’s history from the beginning.
Blight is Yale’s Sterling Professor of History and African American Studies, and Director of the Gilder Lehrman Center for the Study of Slavery, Resistance, and Abolition.
The book talk will be followed by a panel discussion with:
