About Us
In support of our mission to train future leaders >to advance the practice and science of EM in operations, quality and safety, the DEM established the Administration Section in 2015. Working in collaboration with the Yale School of Management, we launched a two-year Administration Fellowship as well as a residency Area of Concentration (AoC). The section led by Vivek Parwani, MD, MHA, and supported by Andrew Ulrich, MD, Vice Chair of Operations, has 14 faculty that have achieved remarkable scholarly success while serving in numerous local and national leadership roles.
Since 2017, the faculty have published greater than 50 academic articles on topics including predictive analytics and machine learning in the ED setting, safety risks during inter-hospital patient care transitions, quality of care for septic shock patients, and adverse patient outcomes associated with ED boarding.
Post-residency Emergency Physician who aspires to administrative leadership positions in private or academic practice.
