Overview
Margaret Pisani, MD, MPH, is a pulmonologist and critical care specialist.
Dr. Pisani’s research focuses on improving care and outcomes for critically ill patients. She studies delirium and sleep in the intensive care unit. She has a special interest in geriatric pulmonary and critically ill patients. In addition, she is interested in how sex and gender impact lung diseases and critical illness.
In 2021, Dr. Pisani received the CHEST College Medalist Award from the American College of Chest Physicians, bringing her career full circle. A grant from CHEST was what kick-started her research career.
Dr. Pisani is a professor of medicine (pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine) at Yale School of Medicine.
