About
Biography
I have a strong interest in biotechnology, chemistry, engineering, and chronic disease research. I currently am conducting research at Gallaudet University with professors to optimize type 2 diabetes medication. I have participated in Congressman Sean Casten’s STEM Scholars group affording me the opportunity to visit various stem facilities. My favorite visits included the Morton Arboretum where we explored tree science and the Argonne National Laboratory, where I learned about nuclear engineering and observed the supercomputer Aurora. I’m OSHA Lab certified, placed 6th at state in Ecology for Science Olympiad, 11th at state in DECA, and 3rd at state in the M.I.S.T. quiz bowl, allowing me to qualify for nationals. At my high school during my sophomore year, I was awarded outstanding student of the quarter for chemistry. In my free time, I enjoy playing tennis and volunteering at my local library.
