Biography
Mariel Thottam, MS, BCBA is a Health Outcomes Researcher (Team Lead) for the Quality Measurement team at CORE. Mariel leads three teams at CORE focused on rulemaking, multi-stakeholder meeting facilitation and person and family engagement (PFE). Mariel joined CORE in 2022 as a Research Associate IV (Senior Coordinator) before receiving a promotion for her current role. Prior to joining CORE, Mariel was a Health Services Researcher at the Behavioral Health Center of Excellence (BHCOE) where she led technical task work and stakeholder engagement activities towards quality measure development within the behavioral health field. She is a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and holds extensive experience delivering therapeutic services to individuals on the autism spectrum, and as a researcher co-leading on projects relating to adolescent mental health and cognitive psychology. She is passionate towards applied, person-centered research and focuses on utilizing her intensive experience working directly with providers, patients and families to inform and produce meaningful stakeholder engagement and impactful measure development work.
