Thursday, Dec. 14 – MEDG “ChatGPT Has Arrived: Where It Belongs in Medical Education,” by Conrad Safranek, YMD Candidate, Class of 2026; Anne Elizabeth Sidamon-Eristoff, MD-PhD Candidate, Class of 2030; David Chartash, PhD, and Thilan Wijesekera, MD MHS
ChatGPT and other AI-powered large language models are rapidly being deployed in myriad ways, including in medicine. In this interactive session, we will explore the basics of this powerful tool. We will explore how medical students are using ChatGPT and how faculty can implement it to augment their teaching. No prior knowledge of AI-powered large language models is required to attend this session.
Friday, Dec. 15 – YES! “Abstract Art: Writing an Abstract That Will Get You Noticed - and Accepted” by Andrés Martin, MD, PhD
High-quality abstracts increase the likelihood of a submission being reviewed rather than summarily rejected and of a published work being eventually discovered and reaching its intended audience. A solid abstract is the entryway to presenting at a conference or publishing in a journal. Abstracts can be enhanced by incorporating a dozen proven strategies described in this session.
