Yale Surgery Promotions: Dr. Michael Alperovich and Dr. Matthew Williams

The Yale School of Medicine Department of Surgery is pleased to announce the following faculty promotions, as approved by the Board of Permanent Officers at its April 20, 2022 meeting:

  • Michael Alperovich, MD, MSc, FACS promotion to Associate Professor of Surgery (Plastics Division), in the Clinician-Educator Track, July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2027.
  • Matthew Williams, MD, appointment as Associate Professor of Surgery (Cardiac Division), in the Clinician-Educator Track, July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2026.

Dr. Alperovich is a native of Connecticut, Board Certified plastic surgeon, full-time faculty member, and Co-Director of Craniofacial Surgery at Yale University.

Dr. Williams serves as the surgical director of the Yale Medicine Structural Heart Disease Program, which cares for patients with valvular heart disease.

A formal reception honoring the promoted faculty, and the support of our Faculty Affairs Office, will take place in early fall.
