Reconstructive Oncologist, Dr. Luccie Wo, joins Center for Breast Cancer at Smilow Cancer Hospital

Luccie Wo, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Surgery (Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery) within the Department of Surgery and cares for patients at Smilow Cancer Hospital in New Haven. She received her medical degree from Harvard-MIT Health Science and Technology and subsequently completed her residency training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Jackson Memorial Hospital/ University of Miami. She completed a fellowship in Microsurgery at the Linkou Chang-Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan. She also received a Master of Science in Engineering, Bioengineering Innovation and Design, at Johns Hopkins University.

Dr. Wo’s clinical interests include post-oncologic reconstruction focusing on microsurgical techniques. While in medical school, she worked in the laboratory of Dr. Bohdan Pomahac researching the immunology of vascular composite allografts (VCA). During residency, she received the Aesthetic Surgery Education & Research Foundation (ASERF) Resident Travel Scholarship, the Miami Society of Plastic Surgeons Resident Competition Award, and the University of Miami Division of Plastic Surgery Highest Score in Plastic Surgery In-Service Exam.
