Yale Biomedical Informatics and Data Science (BIDS) proudly congratulates Deborah Levy, MD, MPH, MS on her selection as a 2025 Fellow of the American Medical Informatics Association (FAMIA) in the prestigious FAMIA Applied Informatics Recognition Program. Dr. Levy is one of 87 professionals chosen for this honor nationally in 2025, recognizing leaders in health informatics who apply their expertise to enhance healthcare outcomes, improve organizational performance, and promote individual empowerment in healthcare.
As a new FAMIA inductee, Dr. Deborah Levy joins a distinguished community of professionals who have demonstrated significant achievement and leadership in the field of informatics. Her contributions to reducing documentation burden are highlighted in the newly published scoping review, “Defining Documentation Burden (DocBurden) and Excess DocBurden for All Health Professionals,” in Applied Clinical Informatics. Authored by Dr. Levy and members of the AMIA 25x5 Task Force, the review advances healthcare research by clarifying and standardizing documentation burden across health professions, exemplifying the fellowship’s criteria of advancing both personal and population health through innovative informatics applications. Dr. Levy’s induction follows her receipt of the AMIA 2023 Leadership Award, further underscoring the widespread recognition of her impactful contributions to the field.
The formal induction ceremony will be held at the AMIA 2025 Clinical Informatics Conference in Anaheim, CA, from May 20-22, 2025.
