Oscar Colegio, MD ‘04, PhD’03, Associate Professor of Dermatology, Pathology ad Surgery (Transplant) at Yale and an MD-PhD Faculty Committee member recently accepted the position of Chair of the Department of Dermatology and Professor of Oncology at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center (RPCCC) in Buffalo, New York. Oscar received the 2015 Young Physician- Scientist Award of the American Society for Clinical Investigation (ASCI) and the 2017 Young Investigator Award of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), and was elected in 2018 as president-elect of the International Transplant Skin Cancer Collaborative, the largest international organization of physicians dedicated to the prevention and treatment of skin cancer in transplant recipients
Charles (Chaz) Hong, MD ‘98, PhD '98, recently joined University of Maryland School of Medicine as the Director of Cardiovascular Research and Marvin Sharoky Professor of Medicine. Kendall Lee, MD ‘98, PhD '98 is a professor of neurosurgery at the Mayo Clinic, where he is the Director of the MD-PhD Program and the Director of Neural Engineering Laboratory. He is also a decorated Navy Commander, who served during the second Gulf War.
William Pao, MD ‘97, PhD'98, formerly the Chief of Hematology/Oncology and Cornelius Abernathy Craig Professor at Vanderbilt University, is now Head of Pharma Research and Early Development, and a member of the enlarged Roche Corporate Executive Committee. He oversees all R&D for one of the largest drug companies in the world. He is based in Basel, Switzerland.
Saif Rathore, MD ‘11, PhD ’12 is a Medical Director at McKinsey & Company (the only one!) - helping pharmaceutical and medical device clients improve R&D, clinical research, etc; working with FDA and CDC to improve regulatory approaches; and helping providers improve care. He welcomes any MD-PhD students or alumni who are interested in a different perspective. Saif Rathore, MD ‘11, PhD ’12 wrote that he heard from Charles (Chaz) Hong, MD ‘98, PhD '98 that Srinivas Rao, MD ’00, PhD, '98, who co-interned with Saif at Yale-New Haven, is now a Chief Medical Officer at Axial Biotherapeutics. Saif wrote, “I haven't kept in touch with him in recent years, however.” Hopefully Srinivas will see this and get in touch!
