Dear Colleagues and Friends,
Welcome to this inaugural issue of Doctor2! I’d like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the “new” Director of the MD-PhD program at Yale. I assumed leadership of the program in 2014, taking over for Jim Jamieson (“Dr. J”), who admitted and saw most of you through your dual degree training at Yale. Almost from the start, it’s been a goal of mine to have a newsletter that shares and celebrates the accomplishments of current students and alumni.
In this issue, we focus on major milestones achieved by our students on their journey towards becoming a physician-scientist. I think you’ll see that the Yale system continues to attract creative, curious and collaborative students to New Haven. I hope you enjoy getting to know more about them and feel inspired to share news about yourself as we approach the 50th anniversary of MD-PhD training at Yale!
