We invite you to attend two events to honor the legacy of Yan Fuqing, MD, Class of 1909. He was the first Asian to receive a doctorate of medicine from Yale School of Medicine (YSM).

In the late 1920s, Dr. Yan was integral in planning an academic medical center in Shanghai, becoming the founding dean of what is now known as the Shanghai Medical College, Fudan University. He passed away in 1970, and by 1978, was lauded as a national hero for his contributions to the health of the nation.
