Aperture 2: "Portraits of Women Faculty in Medicine"
Hosted by the YSM Committee on Art in Public Spaces, the Committee for Diversity, Inclusion, and Social Justice (CDISJ), the Committee on the Status of Women in Medicine (SWIM), the Minority Organization for Retention and Expansion (MORE), the Office for Women in Medicine, and the Yale Women’s Housestaff Organization (YWHO), this event opens the second part of a series of photographic portraits of women faculty on display on the second floor of Sterling Hall of Medicine.
At this time, the portrait of Dorothy Horstmann, MD will also be unveiled. A noted epidemiologist whose work on the poliovirus laid the groundwork for the development of a vaccine, in 1961 Dr. Horstmann became the first woman at Yale School of Medicine to earn tenure as a full professor.
All members of YSM are invited to attend to celebrate representative members our women faculty, past and present.
