Mikella Nguyen

Mikella is a current senior at the University of North Texas, majoring in Biology and minoring in Chemistry, Chinese, and Spanish. She has also completed a Certificate in Professional Spanish with a focus in Medical Spanish. In addition to minoring in different languages, she has proficiency in Vietnamese. Through Mikella's passion for learning new languages and serving as a family clinic receptionist, her desire to pursue a career as a physician was cemented. Currently, she works as a phlebotomist at her University's Health and Wellness Center and is involved in neuroscience research. Mikella joined the YSERE program to build on her present research skills and knowledge in preparation for pursuing a degree in medicine.
