Hephzibah Agunbiade

Hephzibah is a rising senior at Fisk University majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. A native of Nigeria, Hephzibah’s goal is to obtain a dual M.D./Ph.D. in Neuroscience in an effort to improve the quality of life of people with neurological disorders, diseases, and brain function impairments – namely in minority communities. Through her robust laboratory experience, Hephzibah has found her passion for integrating technology with science in innovative ways. Hephzibah has challenged herself to learn MATLAB in addition to Python and JAVA for her previous research projects and successfully developed and implemented a MATLAB program to be used in her research lab after identifying limitations with a previously developed program. Hephzibah joined the YSERE program to apply the skills and experiences she has gained over the years in biomedical research and build on these through new innovative research projects.
