Biography

We are interested in understanding multiple aspects of mosquito borne disease, especially tripartite interactions between mosquito, pathogens and symbionts. One of our focuses is to investigate how vector immune system recognize self and non-self and how they react differentially to these microbes, allowing symbionts to proliferate, while limit pathogens growing. Another focus is to understand the impact of microbiota on host physiology, including fecundity and immune development etc. We are also interested in studying the symbiosis and parasitism in field mosquitoes, aiming to understand how host evolved adaptations to maintain symbiotic homeostasis under selections of different environmental stresses, including pathogens infection.
