- 00:03Go on, Chamberlain, and I am a
- 00:06two time lung cancer survivor.
- 00:08I have gotten very involved with advocacy
- 00:11work at the Smilow Cancer Center and
- 00:14specifically their patient and Family
- 00:16Advisory Council, and
- 00:18it's a very important tool
- 00:20at the Cancer Center.
- 00:22When I learned of the opportunity to donate,
- 00:25I asked to be first in line if
- 00:28there is something that I can
- 00:31do to improve someone else's.
- 00:33Chances of survival or help
- 00:37them to get through this. I
- 00:41would be happy to do
- 00:42that. My name is Jody Saginaw.
- 00:44I became a member of the patient
- 00:47and Family Advisory Council.
- 00:49After helping my late husband
- 00:51Paul through his nine year
- 00:53battle with multiple myeloma.
- 00:56I like the idea of tissue donation because.
- 00:59I think it's very important.
- 01:01I believe Paul would have signed up
- 01:04for this program because he always
- 01:06wanted to make sense of how what he was
- 01:09experiencing fit into the bigger picture.
- 01:11Paul benefited through new treatments.
- 01:14And I know he would have been
- 01:16honored to be able to contribute.
