Yale Department of Psychiatry welcomes new staff

We are pleased to announce the following new employees who have joined the Yale Department of Psychiatry. Please help us welcome them!

Sara Andrzejewski
Assistant Administrator, Division of Substance Abuse
Sara joins the department from Hammers Healthcare Imaging where she worked for the past five years as an Office Manager/Accountant. Sara brings experience in accounting, administrative management and has strong interpersonal skills that she utilizes in team building. Sara received her bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of New Haven, in West Haven CT.

Patty Devaux
Quality Assurance Manager
Patty graduated from Post University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and received an MBA from University of New Haven. Patty has worked at Yale University for ten years in a variety of financial roles, most recently in YSM Financial Operations where her primary focus was on leased properties. Prior to working at Yale, Patty worked at Ann Taylor and Novametrix Medical Systems.

Ryan Hackett
Unit/ Division Administrator, Division of Substance Abuse
Ryan joined Psychiatry in November 2012 after transitioning from the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, & Reproductive Sciences. Prior to Yale, Ryan served five years in the United States Marine Corps, leaving at the rank of Sergeant. Ryan has expertise in federal financial regulations and appropriations. He has earned his Bachelor of Science in Business with a minor in quantitative analysis from the University of New Haven and is currently pursuing his Master of Business Administration through Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business. Ryan's professional interests are workflow processes, team building, and leadership development.

Carrie Johnson
Assistant Administrator, The Consultation Center
Carrie joined The Consultation Center in January 2013 as Assistant Administrator. She has worked at the university for 40 years in various department business offices—Genetics, OB/GYN, BCMM, Cell Biology, and at the Yale Psychiatric Institute. During her tenure at the university she has been an administrative assistant, accountant, and associate administrator. Carrie has expertise and extensive knowledge in the financial management of grants, contracts and clinical trials and strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, federal regulations, Yale policies and procedures, and process/workflow.

Meg Martins
Coordinator, Sponsored Projects
Meg has worked at Yale for the past five years at the School of Public Health. At YSPH, she was a part of the pre-award team and assisted faculty with grant applications. Prior to working at Yale, she was employed as the finance manager at the Town of Orange, Visiting Nurse Association.

Phal Patel
Business Analyst
Phal joined Yale's Department of Psychiatry in December 2012 as a Business Analyst. In this role, she provides business understanding and analytics to ensure effective and efficient operations. Prior to starting in the department, Phal spent twelve years at GE in various roles within GE Commercial Finance, GE Asset Management, and GE Real Estate. She has an MBA from Albertus Magnus College and her Masters in Clinical Psychology from University of Bombay, India. She is a certified Six Sigma Green Belt (methodology used to improve business processes) with cross-functional, financial services experience in process improvement, commercial lending operations, and accounting/finance.

Bernadette Roberson
Financial Assistant, The Consultation Center and CMHC
Bernadette holds a B.S. in management science from Albertus Magnus College and received a B.A. in metaphysical science. At Yale, Bernadette has gained a wealth of knowledge working in various departments, from Procurement (Yale Shared Services), the School of Management, Facilities, and Engineering. Her expertise includes customer service, accounting transactions, streamlining special projects, and database management. In the New Haven community, Bernadette volunteers as a child advocate (GAL) for foster children in Probate Court. She has over 30 years of experience at Yale.
