Marjorie Rosenthal, M.D. '95, M.P.H., associate research scientist in pediatrics (general pediatrics), received a Seton Elm/Ivy Award on April 5 for her work with the New Haven community. She was cited as “a shining example of someone who unites city and university. She is tireless in her commitment to improving the lives of New Haven’s children and families, and she is inspiring a new generation of potential leaders—her students and mentees—to give back to New Haven.” This has included community-academic partnerships to improve the health of city residents, working with many agencies in the city and helping to “foster Yale’s collaboration with New Haven Family Alliance in three projects to reduce gun violence and intimate partner violence among New Haven’s youth.”

The Seton Elm/Ivy Awards are given each year to recognize those whose actions strengthen the bonds between the city and the university.
