The American Psychiatric Association has selected four Yale Department of Psychiatry faculty to be recipients of two of its highest honors in teaching.
Ebony Dix, MD, assistant professor of psychiatry, and Cristina Sanchez-Torres, MD, adjunct clinical instructor, were chosen to receive the 2022-2023 Nancy C.A. Roeske, MD Certificate of Recognition for Excellence in Medical Student Education.
Tichianna Armah, MD, assistant clinical professor of psychiatry, and Tobias Wasser, MD, associate professor of psychiatry, are recipients of the 2022-2023 Irma Bland, MD Certificate of Excellence in Teaching Residents.
The Roeske award was established in honor of Nancy C.A. Roeske, MD and serves as a tribute to her unique and creative contributions to psychiatric education. This certificate is awarded annually to APA members who have made outstanding and sustaining contributions to medical student education.
The Bland award was established in honor of Bland, who died in 2003 and was nationally recognized in the field of mental health. The award serves as a tribute to Bland’s unique and creative contributions to psychiatric education.
