Paul Khavari is the chair and Carl J. Herzog Professor in Dermatology at Stanford University. His research centers on stem cell differentiation and cancer and on the development of new molecular therapeutics for skin disease. His lab’s experimental focus is on the mammalian setting, including mouse genetics, human genetics and new human tissue platforms.
Established in 1970 by the National Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Medicine is recognized as a national resource for independent, scientifically informed analysis and recommendations on health issues. The elections were announced Oct. 20.
