Christmas miracle: Waterbury boy gets a heart transplant
This Christmas, toddler Adam Silva Batista of Waterbury can play with his older brothers and the cars which are among their favorite toys. Another family’s gift made this sweet, simple family time possible. Less than three hours into his life, Adam’s mother, Debora DaSilva, noticed something wrong. His heartbeat pounded, too strong for the moment, as she held him in her arms. She alerted the nurses at Waterbury Hospital, who brought him immediately for an exam.
