Mansuri Recognized by Doximity and Published in "Essential Clinical Psychiatry"
Doximity has placed Zeeshan Mansuri, MD, assistant professor of psychiatry, in the top 5% of most published psychiatrists for 2024. Doximity is the largest professional network in the United States with more than 80% of all US physicians among its members. Mansuri also authored a book chapter on "Neuromodulation" in the book, "Essential Clinical Psychiatry." This book has been endorsed by the World Psychiatric Association.
YNHH Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit Ranked in 'Newsweek'
The YNHH Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit, located in the Milford campus of Bridgeport Hospital and led by medical director Necolle Morgado-Vega, DO, was ranked in Newsweek among the top rehab units in the Northeast for the second year in a row. The annual list, now in its fifth edition, awards the top 300 inpatient physical rehabilitation facilities in the U.S.
Baum Appointed to USADA Committee
Carl Baum, MD, professor of pediatrics and of emergency medicine, was appointed to the Therapeutic Use Exemption Committee of the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), which is charged with protecting the rights of clean athletes in global competition by detecting and deterring the use of dangerous, banned performance-enhancing substances and methods.
Bortnick Invited to Join 'Urology' Editorial Board
Eric Bortnick, MD, assistant professor of urology, has been invited to serve on the Editorial Board of the journal Urology. He will be the deputy editor for pediatrics.
Forman Receives AAN 2025 Health Care Equity Research Award and Grants to Improve Community Stroke Education
Rachel Forman, MD, assistant professor at Yale School of Medicine, received the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) 2025 Health Care Equity Research Award. She also received the AAN's DEI Innovator Grant (November 2024) and Palatucci Advocacy and Leadership "Action Plan" (December 2024). The two grants are to fund a project that aims to improve community stroke education and make it more culturally tailored and health literate to New Haven residents.
Guerrero-Medina Elected to Board of Directors of the SACNAS
Giovanna Guerrero-Medina, PhD, director of diversity, equity and inclusion at the Wu Tsai Institute and director of the Yale Ciencia Initiative in the Office of DEI of the School of Medicine, was elected to the Board of Directors of the Society for the Advancement of Chicanos, Hispanics and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS). For more than 50 years, SACNAS has promoted diversity, inclusiveness, and success in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, serving a community of more than 10,000 members, 28,000 supporters, and 144 student and professional chapters throughout the United States and territories, including Puerto Rico and Guam. Board members are elected to three-year terms by a vote of the organization’s membership and are responsible for setting strategic direction, providing oversight, and ensuring fundraising and resources are raised to foster the organization’s success.
Levinson and Lawson Invited to Attend AAMC Seminar
The Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) invited fourth-year MD students Rachel Levinson and Lamley Lawson to attend a free leadership seminar at the AAMC called "RISE: Developing Future Leaders in Academic Medicine & Science for 4th Year Medical Students." The Yale School of Medicine Center for Medical Education had been invited to nominate up to two students who have demonstrated a willingness and ability to positively impact the culture and/or learning environment at their medical school.
Moylan Receives Outstanding Community Partner Award
Minorities in Medicine selected assistant professor Tatiana Moylan, MD, who is director of DEI and outreach at the Yale Center for Healthcare Simulation, to receive its Outstanding Community Partner Award on behalf of Yale School of Medicine. She was presented with the award on January 10, 2025, at the organization’s Decade of Excellence Celebration.
