We are also pleased to announce that Dr. Benjamin Mba, MBBS, MRCP (UK), CHCQM, FACP, is our faculty speaker. Dr. Mba will give a talk titled: Cultural Humility in a Diverse World: Bridging Cultures and Ideologies.
Dr. Benjamin Mba is a Professor of Medicine and Vice Chair of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) for Yale School of Medicine’s Department of Internal Medicine, as well as the GME director for DEI at Yale New Haven Hospital. Since joining Yale in 2023, he has spearheaded initiatives like the department’s first inclusion climate survey and a DEI productivity calculator to support academic promotion evaluations.
Dr. Mba is dedicated to diversifying Yale’s healthcare workforce and fostering equitable mentorship for underrepresented faculty in medicine. Before Yale, he spent 24 years at Cook County Health and RUSH Medical College, earning multiple awards for teaching and mentorship.
A recognized national leader in clinical education and DEI advocacy, Dr. Mba has presented on these topics at major conferences and institutions. He earned his medical degree from the University of Lagos and completed residency training in the UK (MRCP) and the U.S., where he served as Chief Medicine Resident at Cook County Hospital. Dr. Mba practices as a hospitalist at Yale New Haven Hospital.
