2020 Leadership in Global Health Fellows

Misikir Adnew , YSPH ‘21: Misikir worked as a fellow with the Primary Care Transformation Initiative (PTI) at the Ethiopian Ministry of Health. In this role, she supported this program by collaborating with partners to help build a quality culture, as performance management and accountability are foundational to efforts to promote quality delivery of healthcare services.
Bayan Galal , Yale College '23: As the Global Health and Climate Change Fellow, Bayan worked with staff from Save the Children’s Department of Global Health to document Save the Children’s current efforts with regard to climate change. In addition to that, she assisted in conducting and analyzing data from interviews with SC staff on the subject of climate change and global health, carrying out a scan of external agencies working in climate change related to global health, and presenting findings to a sounding board of relevant staff.
Marlika Marceau , Yale College '22: Marlika, as the World Bank Fellow, aspired to examine developmental aspects of health systems, particularly the socioeconomic inequalities that shape both the demographic distributions of individuals with access to preventive health services and the systemic flaws in the healthcare delivery chain.
Helen Mooney , Yale College '22: Helen interned as the Save the Children-New Born Health Fellow. In this role, she developed materials to document the Newborn Legacy Arc, put together communication products, audited the Healthy Newborn Network digital channels content, supported analysis and write-up of blog posts for HNN platforms, tracked the dissemination of implementation research evidence, and completed other knowledge management tasks.
Camila Soto Espinoza , YSN '21: Camila, in her internship as the UNICEF Fellow, supported the Health Programme Division at UNICEF’s New York headquarters. Responsibilities included quantitative and qualitative analysis, development of knowledge products, advocacy and policy briefs and review of annual and period reports in the relevant areas. She also helped facilitate direct and internet-based conversations with internal and external stakeholders supporting UNICEF’s health division.
Mahira Tiwana , YSPH '21: Mahira, also a UNICEF Fellow, supported the Health Programme Division at UNICEF’s New York headquarters. Responsibilities included quantitative and qualitative analysis, development of knowledge products, advocacy and policy briefs and review of annual and period reports in the relevant areas. She also helped facilitate direct and internet-based conversations with internal and external stakeholders supporting UNICEF’s health division.
