Y Global Health?
Evelyn Hsieh has been trying to solve mysteries for as long as she can remember. “As a kid, I was always intrigued by things I had to figure out,” says Hsieh. That fascination with solving problems came in handy when she chose her career path.

“Great! How can we support you?” That is what Jeremy Schwartz and Tracy Rabin would say if their children chose to pursue a career in global health. From early in their medical careers, global health has been a family affair for these two physicians, both faculty in the Section of General Internal Medicine at Yale School of Medicine. They have both developed productive, long-term collaborative relationships with colleagues in Uganda and their two children have been an important part of that journey.

“Growing up in our small village in southeastern Nigeria, I never dreamed I would be on a plane to Nigeria with the President of Yale,” muses Theddeus Iheanacho. Last year, Iheanacho joined President Peter Salovey to formalize The HAPPINESS (Health Action for Psychiatric Problems in Nigeria including Epilepsy and Substances) Project.
