Selection Process
A panel of external reviewers will read and score each application. The reviewers evaluate the applications in five key areas:
- Success as a GHES fellow
- Aptitude and interest in research
- Potential for a career in global health
- Research proposal
- Plan for mentoring and training
The GHES Principal Investigators may conduct online interviews with applicants if deemed necessary.
Final selection of fellows will be made by the GHES executive committee and will be based on the candidate’s application, research proposal, supplemental materials, external reviews and scores.
The first round of fellowship awards will be likely be offered in April 2024. The second round of fellowship awards will likely be offered between May and June 2024. Accepted applicants will be notified by email, followed by a formal letter of award.
Candidates who are not selected will be informed by email.
We are now in our application season and will announce our fellows by the end of 2023/early 2024.
