YCCCH Seminar Series: "Microbial Forecasting: How do We Predict the Impact of Climate Change on Infectious Diseases?" with Dr. Virginia Pitzer

Join the Yale Center on Climate Change and Health at Dr. Virginia Pitzer's lecture: "Microbial forecasting: How do we predict the impact of climate change on infectious diseases?"

Virginia Pitzer, Sc.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Epidemiology of Microbial Diseases at Yale School of Public Health. She received her Sc.D. in Epidemiology from Harvard School of Public Health, and was a postdoctoral fellow at Princeton University and Fogarty International Center/National Institutes of Health prior to joining the Yale faculty in 2012. Her research focuses on mathematical modeling of the transmission dynamics of infectious diseases, including elucidation of climate drivers of the seasonality and spatiotemporal patterning of respiratory syncytial virus, rotavirus, typhoid fever, and cholera.
