How to Manage Faculty Publications

• 00:01In this video, I'm going
• 00:02to review how to manage
• 00:03the publications that appear on
• 00:04your public facing profile.
• 00:07I'm going to use Dean
• 00:08Brown as an example.
• 00:10First, log in to beatrix
• 00:12dot yale dot edu and
• 00:14navigate to your profile.
• 00:16Once you're in your profile,
• 00:18click the publications tab.
• 00:22You're presented with all the
• 00:23publications that are currently associated
• 00:25with your
• 00:28account. We are working to
• 00:30connect everyone's
• 00:31profile with their dimensions dot
• 00:33ai profile to automatically import
• 00:36your publications.
• 00:37If you've not yet connected
• 00:39your profile to dimensions, please
• 00:41email y sm dot editor
• 00:44at yale dot edu.
• 00:46Again, that's ysm
• 00:48dot editor at yale dot
• 00:49edu.
• 00:51Okay.
• 00:52Everything that is set to
• 00:54public display will appear on
• 00:56your public profile.
• 00:58You can filter to see
• 00:59everything that you've marked as
• 01:00private by clicking apply.
• 01:02In Dean Brown's case, there
• 01:04are no
• 01:05publications that aren't public. But
• 01:07if we were to make
• 01:08one private
• 01:10and then filter by private,
• 01:14we'll see this publication.
• 01:16Simply click the privacy button,
• 01:19and it will make it
• 01:19public again.
• 01:23She has two hundred ninety
• 01:24six publications that are set
• 01:26to be public.
• 01:29If you'd like to feature
• 01:30a publication,
• 01:31this publication will appear at
• 01:33the top
• 01:35of your publications list
• 01:37on your profile.
• 01:39That means if we navigate
• 01:40back over here, there'll be
• 01:42a new section when I
• 01:43click refresh
• 01:44called featured publications,
• 01:47and those featured publications will
• 01:49list the publications that we've
• 01:50identified
• 01:51with a star here.
• 01:53If we go to the
• 01:54features tab,
• 01:56you can reorder the publications
• 01:57to sort them in whatever
• 01:59order you would like
• 02:01and that will be reflected
• 02:02on the website within a
• 02:03few minutes.
• 02:05To
• 02:06defeat
• 02:07your publication, you can either
• 02:09click the star
• 02:10or you can select all
• 02:14and click it
• 02:16and it will
• 02:17unfeature the publication.
• 02:22When you feature a publication,
• 02:25you'll have the option
• 02:27to show a featured publication
• 02:29card at the top of
• 02:30your profile.
• 02:32In this case, I featured
• 02:33three publications.
• 02:34If I go to the
• 02:35appearance tab
• 02:37and I scroll down to
• 02:40the header cards
• 02:42and I click edit,
• 02:45I'll now have the option
• 02:46under research
• 02:49to show a featured publication.
• 02:51I simply click toggle this
• 02:52on and this will replace
• 02:55one of the contact cards
• 02:56up here.
• 02:58And that's it.
• 03:01The publications will always appear
• 03:03in chronological order with the
• 03:05featured publications
• 03:07displaying first.
