How to Edit Organization or Location Information

Instructions for organization administrators to edit the membership and location information for an organization on the new YaleMedicine.org website.

  • 00:00In this video I will review how to edit the
  • 00:03members and locations for an organization.
  • 00:06These are displayed on the
  • 00:08organization page within the
  • 00:10Department section of the new website.
  • 00:12In this example, I'm going to
  • 00:14look at Dermatologic Surgery.
  • 00:15So first I'll click Departments.
  • 00:18Scroll down to Dermatology.
  • 00:20Expand their sections and
  • 00:22click Dermatologic Surgery.
  • 00:26Members are available from
  • 00:27the "Book an Appointment" button.
  • 00:32Locations are available at the bottom
  • 00:35of the main department page.
  • 00:38We rely on individual organizations
  • 00:40to maintain membership lists,
  • 00:42contact and location information
  • 00:44in the school's profile system.
  • 00:46The easiest way to make an update
  • 00:48is by clicking the "edit members and
  • 00:50locations" button on the organization's
  • 00:52page in the preview website.
  • 00:54Once in the profile system: to edit members,
  • 00:56click the "Members & Leaders"
  • 00:59button in the left navigation.
  • 01:01To add members,
  • 01:03type the person's name into the
  • 01:05"Add a new member" field.
  • 01:09Select the person and click add.
  • 01:13To remove a person, click the
  • 01:14trash can icon to completely
  • 01:16delete them from the organization.
  • 01:21If you want to keep them in the organization
  • 01:23but suppress them from appearing
  • 01:25on the YaleMedicine.org website,
  • 01:26click the green YM icon beside their name.
  • 01:30This will remove them from that organization
  • 01:32on the YaleMedicine.org website
  • 01:35but leave them in the School of
  • 01:37Medicine department's website.
  • 01:41To manage locations, click the "Contacts
  • 01:43and Locations" button in the left column.
  • 01:48Scroll to the bottom of the
  • 01:49page to the Locations section.
  • 01:51To add a new location,
  • 01:53click the "add new" button.
  • 01:55In the Type dropdown,
  • 01:57select either Clinic or Hospital.
  • 02:00These are the only two types of
  • 02:02locations that will appear on
  • 02:04the YaleMedicine.org website.
  • 02:05In the building field,
  • 02:07began typing either the
  • 02:08building name or address.
  • 02:10In this example,
  • 02:11we're going to use the Yale Physicians Building.
  • 02:13The system already knows
  • 02:14the building's address,
  • 02:15so you don't need to enter that.
  • 02:18If the address that you
  • 02:19want is not in the system,
  • 02:21click the Request a New Address button.
  • 02:25Enter the accompanying details.
  • 02:27The office name, hours,
  • 02:29and other information into this section.
  • 02:32If you want to add a location-specific
  • 02:34phone number for this organization,
  • 02:36click Add New beside the phones.
  • 02:39Select Appointment as the Type.
  • 02:40And add the phone number.
  • 02:43Make sure you click the add button.
  • 02:46Once you have finished adding
  • 02:47all the information,
  • 02:47click the Add button to add this location.
  • 02:51You can edit existing locations
  • 02:53by clicking this edit button.
  • 02:55Or you can completely remove the
  • 02:57location by clicking the trashcan icon.
  • 03:02Your changes will appear on the
  • 03:03new YaleMedicine.org website
  • 03:05within a few hours after you've
  • 03:06made them in the profile system.
