Biography
Dr. Son is board certified in both Obstetrics/Gynecology and Maternal-Fetal Medicine. As a Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) specialist, she cares for women with higher-risk pregnancies. Pregnancies can be complex due to pre-existing maternal conditions, babies with anomalies or growth issues, or complications that develop such as preterm labor or preeclampsia. Her clinical practice involves caring for these high-risk patients throughout their pregnancies, from prenatal care through labor and delivery. She also performs detailed ultrasounds and procedures for prenatal diagnosis.
Dr. Son received her MD from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons graduating with Alpha Omega Alpha. She completed her Ob/Gyn residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center after serving as Administrative Chief Resident. She then completed a three-year fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, during which time she also earned her Master degree in Scientific Clinical Investigation. Dr. Son is the Principal Investigator on multiple clinical research projects including randomized clinical trials. She also serves as the Interim Program Director of the MFM Fellowship Program at Yale, and is strongly committed to the education of medical students, residents, and fellows.
