Biography

I received Ph.D. from the Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH), Republic of Korea. During Ph.D. course, I had been focusing on the ontogeny and physiological role of IgE-secreting plasma cells in the thymus. I had also studied the protective role of long-acting hybrid Fc-fused form of recombinant human IL-7 against lethal respiratory virus infection, including influenza virus and SARS-CoV-2.

As a cellular immunologist, I'm highly interested in the B cell biology, including affinity maturation, class-switch recombination as well as generation & longevity of plasma cells and memory B cells, which underpins successful vaccine development and strategies. Currently, I'm working on the plasma cell response upon vaccination in the Akiko Iwasaki laboratory at Yale University. Also, I'll be also studying on the neuroimmunological aspects in Long-COVID projects funded by HHMI.
