Overview
Current research projects include investigating software applications providing a quantitative assessment of interstitial fluid on lung point-of-care ultrasound and whether this corresponds to degree of clinical disease severity, automated estimation of ejection fraction on point-of-care echo clips.
I am also currently developing research studies in point-of-care ultrasound guided nerve blocks.

Overview
Cristiana Baloescu, MD, is an emergency medicine specialist who cares for people facing sudden or serious illnesses and injuries. She employs advanced diagnostic techniques, including point-of-care ultrasound, which enables real-time imaging during examinations to guide swift and precise treatment decisions.
As an assistant professor of emergency medicine at Yale School of Medicine, Dr. Baloescu researches the use of point-of-care ultrasound and machine learning to improve how providers detect and manage urgent health problems. She also works to expand ultrasound training and access in resource-limited environments.
Dr. Baloescu completed her medical training at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth and pursued residency in emergency medicine at Yale New Haven Hospital followed by a fellowship in point-of-care ultrasound.
