Biography
Dr. Claudia Moreno earned her medical degree at the University of Puerto Rico. She started her post-graduate career in general surgery before transitioning to psychiatry. She completed a general psychiatry residency at the University of Florida, and a child & adolescent psychiatry fellowship at the Yale Child Study Center. After completing her training she served as an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at University of Florida before coming to the Yale Child Study Center.
Dr. Moreno currently serves at the Medical Director of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry and Psychiatric Emergencies Services at YNHH Children’s Hospital. She is a member of ACCESS-Mental, which provides psychiatric consultation to pediatricians, primary care providers and nurse practitioners in the community. In addition, she is one of the Medical Directors of Yale Intensive In-Home Child & Adolescent Psychiatric Services (IICAPS). Dr. Moreno balances her clinical and administrative responsibilities with teaching as she provides supervision and lectures to medical students, residents, fellows, nurses, and social workers. She is fluent in both Spanish and English and strives to further her understanding of cultural differences and how these affect delivery of care.
