Organizational Skills Training for ADHD: Effects on Executive Functioning and Screen Time
Many children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), even with optimal medication management, continue to have difficulties with executive functioning and managing tasks of everyday life. Organizational Skills Training is an evidence-based psychosocial intervention that can address these problems. This presentation will discuss the results a new randomized controlled trial of Organizational Skills Training in children with ADHD. In addition to reduction of symptoms, the treatment resulted in lasting improvements in children’s daily life and reduction of screen time. Clinical implications of this novel treatment for ADHD will be discussed.
