Biography

Dr. Solomon is a Clinical Fellow in the Section of Emergency & Trauma Radiology in the Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging, and a PhD candidate in the Investigative Medicine Program with the Yale Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. Dr. Solomon's radiology residency training also took place at Yale, where she completed the ABR Holman Research Pathway and served as a Chief Resident. Prior to this, Dr. Solomon attended St. George's University School of Medicine, where she received both her MD and MSc (Tropical Medical Parasitology), and completed a medical internship at NYC Health & Hospitals | Elmhurst Hospital Center. She also holds a MSc in Forensic Psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Her medical education and broad research interests have taken her to the United Kingdom, West Indies, Kenya, Italy, and Tanzania, further fueling her passion for studying and practicing medicine in a global context.

Research

Overview

As a budding academic emergency/trauma and forensic radiologist, Dr. Solomon's current research focuses on the application of various imaging techniques in the postmortem setting to cause of death investigation. She is also exploring related topics, including child abuse imaging and other applications of imaging in forensic settings. She is proud to hold the title of New York City Medical Examiner, serving as a forensic imaging consultant for the New York City Office of Chief Medical Examiner.
