Biography

Dr. Michael Ancuta is an Associate Professor of Anesthesiology at Yale School of Medicine and serves as Associate Vice Chair of Operations for the Department of Anesthesiology as well as Medical Director of Perioperative Services. In these leadership roles, he oversees operational strategy and clinical integration across multiple anesthesiology divisions and care locations, with a focus on delivering safe, efficient, and patient-centered perioperative care.

Dr. Ancuta completed dual residency training in Internal Medicine and Anesthesiology, providing him with a broad clinical foundation that supports a comprehensive approach to complex perioperative and multidisciplinary care.

His work centers on bridging the fields of Surgery, Anesthesiology, and Perioperative Medicine to create seamless patient experiences across the surgical continuum. He collaborates closely with physicians, nurses, operational leaders, and multidisciplinary teams to improve clinical outcomes, optimize workflow, and strengthen coordination of care.
