Gelbert A. Crescencio

Gelbert is a neuroscience graduate from Amherst College with research experience in neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative disorders. In 2025 he graduated summa cum laude with Departmental Distinction and received the James Olds Memorial Neuroscience Award for his thesis using Drosophila models to study how gene regulation affects neuromuscular synapses. As a Postgraduate Associate at Yale, he will continue investigating the molecular mechanisms of neurodegeneration in the Grutzendler Lab.
