Biography

Dr. Prestia currently serves as the Chief Medical Liaison for the system-level partnership between Yale New Haven Health and a local hospice agency. Through this position he provides full spectrum hospice and palliative consultations within the hospital system as well as the community. His research involves advancing inpatient hospice utilization within the health care system and identifying factors that influence those decisions. Additionally, he is assisting in the development of a comfort focused hospital unit at Saint Raphael's hospital. He holds clinical appointments through Yale Medical School and the Frank Netter School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University. Dr. Prestia received his education first at the College of William & Mary in Virginia, then medical school at Campbell University. His training was in Family Medicine in Savannah, Georgia before completing his Hospice & Palliative Fellowship at Yale. He spends his spare time raising his young sons and traveling throughout the East Coast.
