Biography

Blerta Green, MD, received her Bachelor's of Science in the Immunology Specialist program and her Master's Degree in Immunology at the University of Toronto, St. George Campus, Ontario, Canada. During her studies, she enjoyed studying the cellular and molecular basis of the immune response, carried out basic research projects which lead to publications, and partipated in conferences. She then obtained her medical degree at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. During her training, she participated in rheumatology projects, including an Ankylosing Spondylitis project with Dr Robert Inman in Toronto, Canada. She completed her internal medicine training at Yale New Haven Internal Medicine Residency Program in Aug 2018. Dr Green was a hospitalist at Northeast Medical Group, Yale New Haven Hospital from 2018-2023. She also taught students and residents by rounding in resident rotations and by participating as a Clinical Experience Coach for the Interprofessional Longitudinal Clinical Experience (ILCE). In ILCE, she led multiple bedside teaching sessions to first year medical and physician associate students. She was appointed Assistant Clinical Professor at Yale University School of Medicine July 2023. She joined the rheumatology fellowship program Sept 1st 2023 at the Yale School of Medicine and is excited to learn clinical rheumatology. Her hobbies include planning and going on vacations, spending time with her family, hiking and reading.
