YCSC Community Spotlight: Meet Shemrah Fallon

3 Minute Read

For the latest Q&A spotlight in a series highlighting Yale Child Study Center (YCSC) community members and their work, meet N. Shemrah Fallon, who serves as director for Early Childhood Peace Consortium (ECPC) global communications in her position as a lead research assistant III at YCSC. She has been at Yale for twenty-five years, and previously filled the role of senior administrative assistant.

Fallon was nominated for this spotlight by James Leckman, MD, PhD, who shared that the ECPC was launched at UNICEF in 2013 with a mission to join forces within the international community to create a global movement to build more peaceful homes and societies, drawing on the experience of early childhood development and the transformative power of children and families, that is supported by scientific evidence.

Leckman added, “Shemrah is bright, creative, and determined. She has devoted an enormous amount of time and energy to share the work of the ECPC with colleagues and communities across the globe. This has included the organization of presentations at the United Nations, as well as here at Yale and beyond.”

Is there anything else you’d like to share?

It has been an honor and a privilege to be a member of the center these past 25+ years! Child Study Center people are some of the best on the planet. It is the impassioned desire within each of us to serve the needs of all children and their families that brings us together. And together, this community—past, present, and future—will turn the tides of violence and build a more just and peaceful world for all children and generations to come. I will pay it forward as I move into my next life phase. Thank you for your friendship, and for sharing with me your knowledge and wisdom! Much love ♥

This spotlight series is a spin-off of a similar effort launched in 2023 to feature integrated business operations (IBO) and administration staff at Yale Child Study Center (YCSC) as well as the Department of Psychiatry and Department of Pediatrics, All in the YCSC community are welcome (and encouraged) to nominate colleagues for this spotlight series. Self-nominations are also welcome.
