The synaptic potentials underlying the persistent activity exhibit a steady reversal potential during the entire UP state

Intracellular recordings of the synaptic activity while the cell is held at different membrane potentials. A. Recordings from a layer 5 pyramidal cell with a KAc electrode demonstrating a relatively steady reversal potential of around -30 mV. B. Voltage clamp recordings with a CsAc and QX314 filled microelectrode, demonstrating a reversal potential of around -30 mV of the synaptic activity. Note that in both cases, the reversal potential appears to be constant during the entire UP state.
