Overview
Ginger Mills, PsyD, is a clinical neuropsychologist specializing in the assessment of neurological disorders and neurodegenerative conditions. She conducts neuropsychological evaluations to assess cognitive and emotional status, considering factors like developmental experiences to provide diagnostic opinions and recommendations for treatment and future care planning.
Mills's fascination with the brain and behavior began during her undergraduate studies in neuroscience. Now an assistant professor of neurology at Yale School of Medicine, she continues to explore the interplay between the brain and behavior.
"I love working with patients and their families to help better understand the issues at hand and working collaboratively to come up with practical ideas to maintain or improve quality of life," she says. "I tell patients, ‘You are the expert on you. Trust your instinct and gut,’ and together with my knowledge and expertise, we will do the best we can to tackle whatever there is to come."
Mills earned her doctoral degree in clinical psychology from the University of Hartford. She completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology at the Veterans Administration in Boston and an internship in psychology at University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School/Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital.
