Clinical Care
Overview
Tracy Battaglia, MD, is an internal medicine specialist focused on breast oncology and genetics. She is dedicated to improving healthcare access for women who are historically marginalized, particularly those at risk of breast cancer. Dr. Battaglia pioneered the use of patient navigators to help cancer patients navigate their treatment options.
As a professor of medicine at Yale School of Medicine, she conducts research to address health disparities and develop community-engaged scientific methods. Her initiatives have helped establish navigation services as a standard component in cancer centers nationally.
Dr. Battaglia earned her medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine and completed residencies in internal medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and in preventive medicine at Boston University Medical Center. She also completed a fellowship in general internal medicine and women's health at Boston University Medical Center.
