Dr. Chavez diagnoses and treats a variety of heart conditions, including pulmonary hypertension (high blood pressure in the arteries of the lungs that can lead to heart strain), pulmonary veno-occlusive disease (where small veins in the lungs are blocked, causing increased lung pressure), aortic valve replacement (a surgical procedure to replace a damaged valve that helps blood flow out of the heart), and transcatheter aortic valve replacement (a minimally invasive procedure to replace the aortic valve without open-heart surgery).
