Biography

I am an endocrinologist and physician-scientist and joined Yale in 2023. My research delves into the intricate relationship between obesity, nutrition, and brain function in humans. My work is centered on two key areas: the neural mechanisms regulating food intake, with a particular focus on how nutrition and eating patterns influence brain responses, and the molecular and pathophysiological pathways driving insulin resistance within the context of obesity. In addition to my research, I am an expert in nutrition and serve as the Medical Director of the Amsterdam University Medical Center Expert Center for Intestinal Failure and Parenteral Nutrition.
