Biography

Dr. Merrill Mathew is a Board Certified Adult and Forensic Psychiatrist based out of Stamford, CT. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. A California native, Dr. Mathew completed his undergraduate and post-graduate studies at the University of California, San Diego. After receiving his doctorate degree from the Western University of Health Sciences, he then served as Chief Resident at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas School of Medicine, where he completed his psychiatric residency. He then went on to complete a Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship through the Yale Law and Psychiatry Fellowship. He is a member of the American Psychiatric Association as well as the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law, where he currently serves as a member of the Ethics Committee. Additionally, he received his certification in Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) from Duke University. Dr. Mathew’s peer-reviewed literature has been published in nationally recognized journals. Dr. Mathew also has a private psychiatric practice, Mathew Psychiatry, where he does clinical and forensic work.
